But summer isn't just about fun and games, it's also a great time to reflect on our faith and our connection with Jesus. In this episode, Larson and Sonny discuss their favorite stories about Jesus and how they learn from them on Sundays and Wednesdays. Sonny especially loves the Easter story, which reminds us of Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection. So, as we enjoy the sun and the warmth this season, let's also remember to choose joy, love others, and follow the example set by Jesus in our daily lives.

Speaker 1:

Hey, hey, welcome to the Choose Joy podcast, and so I am super pumped that we are still talking about summer and the things that we love about summer, and so I got a couple of my friends here in the studio and you're going to meet them just in a second. All right, we're back. We're back. And so tell me what's your name, larson. Larson, where grade are you in? Second Second? So, did you finish, did you? did you pass? Not yet, not yet. Well, i think you have. By the time this airs you probably you'll know. I think you passed, i think you passed. All right, larson and Sunny. There you go, sunny. What grade are you in? Second Second grade. You think you're going to third? Yeah, i bet you are. So we're talking about favorite things of summer. So tell me, larson, tell me something favorite about your summer.

Speaker 2:

That I'm going to the cruise on a cruise. You're going on a? what Cruise? What is that? It's where I get to go on a cruise ship and have fun with my family.

Speaker 1:

Oh, going on a cruise ship and having fun with your family, that's going to be awesome. How about you? How about you Sunny? How about you Sunny?

Speaker 2:

So my favorite part of summer is that I get to go to Tennessee every single summer.

Speaker 1:

Oh, tennessee every single summer, great. So for us, in order for us to be able to say that we choose joy, we have to say that we love. Who do we love? We love Jesus, we love God. And so, what are some favorite things about, favorite things about Sundays? What's a favorite thing You have a favorite thing about Sundays or Wednesdays?

Speaker 2:

That I learn about Jesus and missionaries Okay.

Speaker 1:

Jesus and missionaries. What's your favorite story about Jesus?

Speaker 2:

My favorite story about Jesus is when we come back to you.

Speaker 1:

We'll come back to you. Think about it. So Jesus did a lot of things. Sunny, what's your favorite?

Speaker 2:

My favorite is the Easter story.

Speaker 1:

The Easter story, what about the Easter story?

Speaker 2:

How Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, So we died on the cross for our sins. So what's sin? It's a bad thing, yeah, when we do what we want to do right, instead of what God wants us to do. Right, and so he died for us, right, very good, very good. So when we talk about Jesus and we talk about when Jesus died for our sins, did he stay dead? No, nope, he rose from the dead, right, and so that's the greatest story ever that Jesus loved us. He told us how to love other people, and he came as a little baby and he didn't. He grew up and he did a lot of things and he taught us how we should love others, right, and he died on the cross for us So we wouldn't be separated from him. But he didn't stay dead. He lives today, and so we're super thankful for that.

Speaker 1:

Everybody, good, yes, so y'all have a great summer, all right. So, at the end of the podcast, what do we say? We say that we are going to do good and love others and choose joy, choose joy. What does choose joy mean? You know, larson, it's going to mean joy is happiness, right, yeah, happiness, yeah, very good, very good. So we're going to be happy. So we're going to be happy. All right, y'all have a great summer. See ya, bye, bye-bye, bye-bye.
